Adam Culley faced the challenge of a lifetime as he undertook the gruelling Rottnest Channel Swim on 22 February.

The swim is 20km+ from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island across the most shark infested water possibly in the world. It turns out that sharks weren’t Adam’s biggest adversaries.

He was viciously attacked by stingers almost every minute which resulted in virtually his entire body being covered in a painful red rash.

Adam was aiming to complete the race in 7 hours and despite all the challenges, he managed to finish in an impressive 6 hours and 27 minutes.

“It was a really hard race, especially dealing with the stingers but I’m very glad I challenged myself and managed to finish it. Raising money for such a good cause was a great motivator for me. Thanks to everyone who donated to my Just Giving page; I was able to raise $1,275 for Vincent House which made it all worthwhile,” Adam concluded.
