Helping older people stay socially active
Posted by Marketing on February 11, 2015

Connections_matter.pngBeyondblue have developed a booklet titled “Connections matter” after research findings showed that up to 60% of older people feel lonely.

Beyondblue chief executive, Georgie Harman said “We hope all older Australians read these and learn just how important it is to have a good social circle.  Research shows a strong link between loneliness and poor mental health, however there are many community activities designed to bring older people together to enjoy themselves and make new friends.”

This resource is free to download off the internet and can be used as a tool to educate older people on how to stay connected to the community.
