ValleyView Residence in Collie currently has two vacancies for permanent residents. ValleyView currently offers 50 beds for people with high care or dementia specific needs.

Facility Manager Jan Hume said: “We currently have two vacancies available for permanent residents.  In periods such as this where bed vacancies exist at ValleyView, respite care is also offered on a temporary basis.  This provides an opportunity for people requiring care to utilise the services whilst investigating the options of becoming a permanent resident.”

People interested in either respite or permanent admission should contact ValleyView on 9734 200 for further information in relation to the necessary information required to access the service.

Graydn Spinks, General Manager Services Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc, said: “Our role as the manager of ValleyView is to deliver the highest quality care outcomes to the permanent residents.  We are committed to providing the Collie community with quality aged care services and we will continue to provide support to residents who require high care or dementia specific services in the region.”

Stephen Davies, President of The Riverview Residence (Collie) Inc. Board said:  “Since 2004 the Board has tasked the manager, Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc. with ensuring a viable and sustainable operation that delivers quality care in the Collie region.  The Board are delighted with the quality of care and the upholding of service delivery levels to our residents by Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc.  This is our first and foremost priority.”

The ValleyView Residence residential aged care service in Collie has been managed by Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc. (SCC) since 2004. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, population changes in the over 80 years’ cohort in Collie region have remained stable (ABS 2012).  In September 2014, a review of the demand for aged care services in Collie was undertaken, which resulted in adjusting the services provided, to align with the changing demographic within the region. This led to the reduction of beds numbers from 64 to 50.
