Care services explained
Posted by on August 2, 2012

Southern Cross joined forces with the City of Perth on Tuesday (July 31) to hold an information session on available care services.

The two hour session at the Citiplace community centre showcased three Southern Cross service areas - community services, residential care and retirement living options.

It provided an overview of the services, as well as eligibility criteria and financial implications.

“These sessions are a simple and effective way to get the information out to people in the community who may otherwise not know what services are available to them,” said Southern Cross chief executive officer Stuart Flynn.

“We are stressing our wellbeing approach to care, which ultimately means encouraging people to utilise community services to allow them to stay at home longer and live independently – while at the same time keeping them informed of their options as their circumstances change.”

The session was well-received by those attending, who said the session provided a better understanding of the costs involved with receiving care services, the application processes and eligibility.

Similar sessions are planned for other parts of the metropolitan area, with details to be confirmed.
